This year's honoree is Jeffrey M. Adelman, 19, of Newark, Delaware. He is the son of Robert W and Lynn S. Adelman. He is a 2006 graduate of the Charter School of Wilmington, where his brother Mark, age 17, is a senior.
Now a junior at Kent State University in Ohio, Jeff is in the College of Aviation, majoring in flight technology. His grade point average is 3.6 on a scale of 4.0.
Jeff joined the Civil Air Patrol when he was 12, soloed in only eight hours at age 15, earned a private pilot's license and became the first cadet to be fully qualified as a Delaware Department of Transportation aerial observer and reporter.
He attends college year-round. He has logged 300 hours and holds commercial, multi-engine and instrument ratings.
Jeff’s dream? Corporate pilot, with instrument and multi-engine instructor ratings.
