Hans Reigle is a lifelong resident of Wyoming, Delaware. He graduated from the Caesar Rodney School District in 1982. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Excelsior College in 1989 and a Masters of Business Administration from Delaware State University in 2010.

At the age of eighteen, Hans enlisted in the United States Air Force Reserve at Dover Air Force Base and was trained as a C-5 Galaxy Loadmaster. In 1986 Hans transferred to the Delaware Army National Guard where he attended Officer Candidate School and was commissioned a Second
Lieutenant in Aviation Branch. He then attended Rotary Wing Flight Training and went on to become a UH-1 "Huey" pilot and Instructor Pilot.

In 1991 he transferred back to the United States Air Force Reserve at Dover Air Force Base and attended pilot training where he became qualified in the C-5 Galaxy aircraft as a pilot and later as an aerial refueling Aircraft Commander and Instructor Pilot.

Hans retired as a Major in 2002. His military awards include a Meritorious Service Medal (MSM) and both the US Army and US Air Force Commendation medals.

In the civil sector, Hans began working for United Airlines in 1997 and actively piloted there until 2009. He flew worldwide and domestically on Boeing 727, Boeing 777, and the Airbus 320 aircraft. As in his military career Hans worked his way up the ranks and served as a flight engineer, first
officer and Captain. He is currently a voluntary furloughed member of the Air Line Pilots Association Union and retains his seniority at United.

He served as a councilman and as Mayor of Wyoming, Delaware. Hans is proud to have served as Assistant Professor and the Assistant Director of the Aviation Program at Delaware State University.
