Gary Dempsey is Senior Vice President, Worldwide Customer Care, Jet Aviation. Coming from a local New Castle County agricultural family, he was fascinated with aviation, becoming an airline apprentice technician while still in Newark High School.
He then earned his A&P Technician license and later his pilot ratings while working at Summit Aviation in Middletown. Mr. Dempsey gained his Aviation Management Bachelor’s Degree at Wilmington College.
Throughout his career in the global aviation service industry, Mr. Dempsey has been right in the middle of its advancements in safety, aircraft technology, and leading business practices. At Cessna, he rose to managing its North America-wide field service.
Moving to one of the top Fixed Base Operations and Service Centers in the southeast U.S., Mr. Dempsey helped Hangar One grow from 15 technicians to over 120 in just 4 years. He quickly earned his way through general management with Hawker customer services and then became a key leader at the Gulfstream Aerospace Service Center in Savannah, Georgia.
In 2003, Mr. Dempsey joined his current company, Jet Aviation, a global aviation service business headquartered in Basel, Switzerland. It is now a key component of General Dynamics’ aerospace business.
After just three years, Mr. Dempsey was charged with growing the multi-faceted U.S. business as President, Jet Aviation Holdings, USA, based in Teterboro, NJ. That included the Company’s aviation staffing business, Jet Professionals.
Called again to attack a broader company global need, Mr. Dempsey recently assumed his current role on the international Jet Aviation senior management team. He is focused on Jet Aviation having the processes in place worldwide to ensure its customers’ travel experiences are seamless throughout its global network.
